Figures show continuing disparity between rural and city schools

“It’s even harsher for country students where an acknowledged “achievement” gap means students who miss out on courses by a few ATAR points are being unfairly streamed out of the professions. Country communities are being denuded of a skilled workforce and business and taxpayers are footing a huge bill trying to plug professional shortages in the country by recruiting overseas or throwing massive financial incentives at city-born professionals to move to the bush.”(more)
