“In the world of education, the United States falls far behind in bilingual education in elementary schools. According to Education Week, the majority of developed countries begin teaching a required second language at the elementary level. In the United States, however, most schools do not offer a second language until the sixth grade, if they offer foreign languages at all. Since the U.S. school system introduces these languages late, it is harder for students to grasp second language skills as easily as they could have at a younger age.”(more)
