” Young children today are being overprotected and the feeling of “risk and adventure” has been stripped out of the classroom as a result, an educational expert has said. In an effort to shelter children at school, pupils are no longer taking part in science experiments, added Nicholas Gair, a trustee at educational charity the Outward Bound Trust. His remarks follow ministerial efforts to tackle unruly children announced earlier this week. Nicky Morgan, the Education Secretary, announced Tom Bennett, a behavioural expert, will work on creating better training programmes for new teachers on how to tackle the problem.”(more)
