“As an entrepreneur and a leader of multiple businesses with two undergraduate degrees and an MBA, I am often asked about the correlation between success in the classroom and success in the world of business. When speaking to audiences on college campuses, in high schools and at businesses that happen to consist of parents of high school and college-aged students, a common area of interest I hear is whether and how the skills learned in higher education help when you are trying to navigate your way up the workforce. While I do not believe that traditional four-year colleges are for everyone and am as concerned as anyone about the ramifications of college students graduating deeply in debt, I can speak to clear lessons learned from my time in school and how to apply them to the world of business.
