“In January 2015, the Summus International Private School opened its doors in Atascocita…The school offers dual-language education to children, ages two to four years old…Dr. Heidi Bostic is the chair of Baylor University’s Modern Languages and Cultures department. She explains that young children have an easier time acquiring new languages than adults. “On one hand, it’s never too late to learn a second language,” Bostic said. “On the other hand, the earlier the exposure to a second language, the better. More and more school districts and universities are realizing the benefits. Given the nature of the world today and how interconnected we are, there is an enormous advantage when children study language in pre-kindergarten and elementary school.”(more)
