“There are many benefits to learning a second foreign language, and the most common foreign language in the United States is Spanish. While it takes a lot of time and practice, learning Spanish opens up many opportunities. While learning a foreign language is no longer required in some high schools, many English speakers know at least a little bit of Spanish and one may know more than they realize. There are many words in English that actually originate from Spanish, like “cafeteria” or “rodeo.” Spanish culture is all around the United States, and Henderson State University will often celebrate that culture throughout the semester.”(more)
