Oregon Live – Betsy Hammond

“For the class of 2014, Woodburn accomplished the state’s best on-time graduation rate for Latino students, 88 percent, and the second-highest for students who learned English as a second language, 87 percent. Overall, Woodburn graduated 87 percent of its students on time, a rate that beat the state average by 15 percentage points. Its lack of a gap between Latino and white students and between low-income and not low-income students stands out as a startling exception to patterns long engrained in Oregon and around the nation.”(more)
