“Anthony Shook, a doctoral student at Northwestern University, researches the cognitive system in the brain that is involved with language processing. He described a study where native English-speaking children and native Spanish-speaking children were merged in a two-way language school in the U.S. Shook said that not only did the native Spanish-speakers improve in all areas of school, the native English speakers. did as well. Both groups improved their cognitive skill – not just in English, but in math.”(more)
