“The Senate Education Committee on Wednesday approved an overhaul of state tenure law that proponents said would make it quicker and less costly to get rid of bad teachers. Proponents of the bill, including the Alabama Association of School Boards, have said the current system is broken because they have to pay dismissed teachers during appeals that can drag on for months.”(more)
