“For a number of years, educators have been aware that children who like to read and who have read extensively throughout their lives have greater success in school, in all subjects, and are far less likely to drop-out of school than non-readers. Studies also have shown the students who score the highest on standardized tests, such as the SAT, are readers –steadily building their vocabulary and increasing their comprehension of the written word as they advance through the grades.”(more)
