“Statewide enrollment in charter schools grew 7 percent this school year, so that more than one in 12 California public school students attends a charter school, according to an advocacy group’s report released Wednesday. In California, 84 charter schools opened for 2014-15, while 34 charter schools were closed last spring, according to the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools. California led the nation with the most new charters this school year. About 547,800 students are enrolled in charter schools in the state.”(more)
