“Positive thoughts can make all the difference in life. They keep us out of the doldrums and build confidence so we can get through the rough times. According to a new research study, they can also make a big difference in academic performance. One of our favorite children’s books is “The Little Engine That Could”, in which the poor little engine has to pull a big load over a mountain and chants “I think I can, I think I can” the entire way. According to the study, that kind of self-talk can help students succeed in math.” (more)
