“When admissions offices consider ACT scores, they normally use the composite score from all four subjects covered on the test. But a new working paper published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, based on a study by Eric P. Bettinger and Brent J. Evans, both of Stanford University, and Devin G. Pope, of the University of Chicago, found that scores in two of the subjects—English and mathematics—were highly predictive of college success.”(more)
