“As native English speakers, many of us rebuff the notion of learning a foreign language, complaining about pronunciation difficulties or claiming that English is the universal language. But foreign languages exist outside of vocabulary tests and verb conjugations by rote; they’re living and breathing, spoken by millions and changing every day, and while we don’t all have to become polyglots, we can definitely all see the benefits of learning a foreign language, especially as Caribbean people surrounded by so much linguistic diversity.” (more)
