Moms – Esther Peverley
“A parent’s most important role is to ensure their child is able to navigate situations on their own; teaching a child problem-solving skills is the way to do this. As with most parenting techniques, one of the best ways to teach problem solving skills is to listen to your child, be open minded, and allow them to work things out for themselves and find their own conclusions. Trying to answer every question for them or not allowing them to make mistakes, before they work out an issue, will only teach them they are unable to do for themselves. A parent is certainly able to help a child work through a problem, but alongside them, not over them.” (more)
