“It’s the rare student who graduates from college debt-free these days. That’s not surprising, given how expensive a college education has become. The average cost of tuition, fees, and room and board sets families back an average of $19,000 a year at public four-year colleges and $42,000 at private schools, according to the College Board. Seven out of 10 college seniors finished their undergraduate degrees with loans, and the average load was $28,400 in 2013, reported the Institute for College Access & Success.”(more)
