“The 3.7 million high school seniors preparing to graduate next spring are facing not just a global pandemic but a reality check on their true preparedness for college and career. Newly released 12th grade reading scores on the 2019 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) are disappointingly lower than the last NAEP scores in 2015. And while math scores remained relatively steady over the four-year period, just 37 percent of 12th graders scored at a level that would indicate they are prepared for college-level reading and math courses.” (more)
