“Cabrillo College is one of few California school bookstores toying with rental programs, as the cost of books continues to eat a major chunk out of student’s budgets. For community colleges, a student will spend about 50 percent of tuition on books, according to the U.S. Public Interest Research Groups. At a university, 20 percent of tuition goes to textbooks.”(more)
