“The survey, conducted in 2007 in Drumchapel, a rough-edged neighborhood in Glasgow, Scotland, shattered the age-old perception that disadvantaged children grow up and become unemployed adults because their childhoods permanently hobble them. On the contrary, the survey found that as long as they’re exposed to solid educational opportunities and have actively involved parents, those disadvantaged kids statistically enter the job market as prepared as kids from any other walk of life.”(more)
