“Texas schools would have to purge their lunch menus and vending machines of all trans fat food products under a bill the Senate passed Thursday that aims at the bad eating habits of many schoolchildren. The measure by Sen. Juan Hinojosa, D-McAllen, would prohibit school districts from making available to students food that contains industrially produced trans fat or that was prepared using another food that contains trans fat.'”(more)
