“Snyder said ‘early childhood is a time of remarkable brain growth that affects a child’s development’ and he wants to close a ‘readiness gap’ that about 35 percent of Michigan children suffered from when they started kindergarten. A 2010 study by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation said there were 84 publicly funded programs in Michigan related to early childhood education.”(more)
