“Not all British universities are expected to survive the government’s overhaul of higher education funding, and some of those that do not may be turned over to private companies to operate, the government indicated last week. A spokeswoman for the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills said that the full details of government plans for British universities, which have seen tuition fees rise from £3,300 a year, or about $5,500, to £9,000, would emerge in a long delayed report, scheduled to be issued sometime in the next two months.”(more)
