Outside the Box – Deborah Durbin

On March 17, Enrichment Program students made rain sticks from recycled and recyclable materials. The students learned people in South America believed that the sticks would bring rain and later used the sticks as musical instruments. The students had a lot of fun coiling aluminum foil to fit into brown paper tubes. Rice was used to make the familiar noise. The students were encouraged to decorate the outside of the tubes in a rainforest motif. Thanks for another great program, Ms. Spradley.
