Moms – Dora Nuss-Warren

“We’ve all had the experience of sitting next to our children while they preform a task–perhaps it’s winning the next level in a video game or maybe it’s something as simple as getting dressed. We hope they’ll finish soon so that we can move on to the next activity of the day. Instead, they seem more interested in poking about, trying out different options when the easy solution is clear. If it’s a game, maybe they try jumping in different ways for half an hour for no apparent reason. If it’s getting dressed, they may have tried using their shirt as pants instead. Sometimes it seems like they do it to drive us nuts, but now research points to the idea that this is useful and necessary exploration.” (more)
