“The federal government pours more and more dollars into higher education, and colleges eagerly keep raising the price. (See also: the housing market.) Meanwhile, more and more students emerge with bright and useless diplomas. Sure, every future physician must first master undergraduate chemistry and biology. Every student going into business would be well-served by an accounting class. . . . and the specific skills required by individual jobs (even a middle manager at, say, Procter & Gamble is going to need very different training than one at Google) are hardly ever taught on campus.”(more)
