“A new set of global university rankings published today show that while the U.S. is still market leader, Asia is gaining fast. Higher education rankings serve as an excellent barometer of an economy’s health, detecting the shifts and currents of know-how, expertise and innovation…While many rankings focus on a range of measures, today’s looked specifically at reputation, an issue of increasing importance in a global marketplace…The results show a predictable dominance, with the U.S. accounting for eight of the top 10 with Harvard, MIT and Stanford in the top three.
