“…sometimes we seem to forget the most basic concern regarding education: Some people are not getting enough. Specifically young girls and women. According to data from the World Bank, nearly 92 percent of primary-school aged American children were enrolled in classes in 2012. However, that number drops drastically when looking at an area like sub-Saharan Africa, where only 76.8 percent of the same age group were enrolled in school. Of those children who were not in school, more than 18 million were young girls. March 8th is International Women’s Day.
