“Official figures show more than quarter of mathematics teachers fail to hold a relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in the subject. Some 31 per cent of physics teachers, 29 per cent of geography teachers and 21 per cent of those teaching English are also not trained to the highest level in their subject, according to data published by the Department for Education.” (more)
